The Nationale Suisse Art Collection

At Nationale Suisse, the worlds of art and business are not mutually exclusive. On the contrary. It suffices to cast a glance into an office, a meeting room or the garden, a visitor encounters art at every step. It is part of the company’s corporate culture and an invitation to our employees to consider the manifold forms of artistic expression of the current times.

Nationale Suisse has been collecting contemporary Swiss art for seventy years. The choice has concentrated on paintings, drawings, photography and sculpture. The collection comprises over 1,500 pieces by 400 different artists. It has been shown many times in exhibitions, the last time in 2008/2009 in the Franz Gertsch Museum in Burgdorf. The full catalogue was published in 2005 in collaboration with the Swiss Institute for Art Research. Every work acquired between 1943 and 2000 is catalogued therein. A supplementary volume was unveiled by Nationale Suisse in 2012 cataloguing the acquisitions made between 2001 and 2011.
